Narrow
rooms will give the sensation of insufficient space and
will be quite uncomfortable.
By using a combination of painting, artwork and mirrors
you can create balance in the room's dimensions.

First,
start by painting one wall a darker, richer color. Hang an
exciting, colorful print on that wall, and hang one of our
mirrors on a neighboring wall. The reflected art and the additional
color on the wall will make the room appear wider by creating
the illusion of depth.

HOW TO LENGTHEN A ROOM
.
|
|
|
Hang
prints with strong horizontal lines to create the illusion
of increased length in your room. For best results use the
landscape style format and prints with light expansive colors.
Several prints hung in a row compound the effect. This effect
can be created with a well-chosen landscape, cityscape or
seascape. Panoramic prints and wide-lens photography are also
extremely adept at extending room length.

HOW TO HEIGHTEN LOW CEILINGS
.
|
|
|
Low
ceilings have an oppressive feeling to them. To
minimize this oppressive, visually unattractive and uncomfortable
feeling, use
a darker floor treatment and paint the walls and ceiling the
same light color to draw the eye upward. Hanging prints with
strong vertical lines and prints which are portrait rather
than landscape, will provide a sense of height. Art prints
which will help you achieve this effect include prints of
trees, buildings and stairways.
